2021 has been quite a thrilling year for us so far. New brand, new big customers, fresh awesome projects, new team members (and new openings as well — check here)… So many things going on to wrap our heads around. And if this isn’t enough, we’ve got more news to share.

Last week, RedLight was acknowledged by the Portuguese National Innovation Agency (ANI) as a certified and competent R&D entity in the Portuguese innovation ecosystem.

This was a long and hard process, which had us prove why we thought we deserved this recognition through our application to ANI. This meant sharing pretty much all of RedLight’s history, showcasing R&D projects and their impact on users and owners, and being transparent about RedLight’s ability and skills to make it happen again and again.

This recognition is very important to us because it puts us on a level playing field with big institutions like the University of Coimbra or Instituto Pedro Nunes, just to name a couple of local institutions that are very close to us, regarding acknowledged competence and capability of executing R&D activities. This recognition alone is a reason to celebrate.

However, the certification benefits not only us. Our Portuguese clients, who want to develop R&D projects with us, will see their expenses with RedLight automatically recognized by ANI if they have approved SIFIDE incentives, resulting in a considerable tax break (more than 50%) for total R&D project expenditure in the annual IRC. If you’re a potential partner and you’re interested in knowing more, reach out to us at general@redlight.dev.

See you soon!
